What Is BroadBand Light PhotoFacial?

As a broadband light system, BBL PhotoFacial uses heated bursts of light to heat deep beneath your skin. This precise heating is absorbed by cells deep within your skin, encouraging new production of collagen.

Collagen is a protein that is crucial to the structure of your skin. As we age, our bodies begin to produce less and less of this key material. The result is your skin begins to lose the volume and tightness that it once had. Without collagen to provide a foundation, your skin can begin to droop, sag, or develop wrinkles.

The light also targets fine blood vessels that can cause visible veins or brown spots, as well as pigmented lesions. With BBL, you can collapse these targets, and your body will naturally replace them. The result is skin that has a more uniform appearance and increased texture.

BBL treatments aren’t only meant as a means to restore skin, but can also be used as a way to prevent loss of tone or texture in the first place. Because of this, the treatment is open to patients of nearly all ages. And, with its exceptional versatility, it can address a wide range of skin concerns.

A BBL PhotoFacial is excellent for targeting areas such as the neck and shoulders, the face, chest, and the back of your hands. Below are several conditions that a BroadBand Light PhotoFacial can deliver stunning results for.

  • Acne
  • Pigmented Lesions (ex: freckles or age spots)
  • Vascular Lesions (ex: rosacea or small blood vessels)
  • Uneven Skin Texture

One of the advantages of this treatment is that it is compatible with multiple skin types and colors. With the variety of wavelengths that the machine can emit, it can match the needs of many different patients.

During your consultation, Dr. Linville will go over your treatment options. As he discusses your goals with you, he will inform you of your optimal treatment options.

Broadband Light Treatment Experience

BroadBand Light treatment takes the best of all worlds. It is:
  • Safe
  • Gentle
  • Non-Invasive
  • Effective
  • Convenient

Though some patients may have different levels of tolerance, most patients can experience a PhotoFacial treatment without the need for even local anesthetic. Your treatment session typically will last around half an hour. Though the total time depends on your individualized treatment. Some patients will spend no more than a few minutes for a complete treatment session.

To achieve optimal results, the number of sessions will vary for each patient. During your consultation, Dr. Linville will inform you of what your treatment plan will look like. Some patients may only require a couple of sessions, while others might see their results after a series of spaced sessions.

After the Treatment

Since BBL therapy is non-invasive, you will be able to return to your usual routine immediately. Patients will typically experience a mild redness similar to a sunburn around the treated area. However, this should fade in under two days, and even in only a couple hours for some patients.

You will begin to notice improvements as the days go by. Within a couple weeks, you should begin to see the full results of your last treatment session.
