Who is a candidate for breast augmentation?
The best candidates for breast augmentation surgery are patients who have realistic expectations, understand the procedure, are in good health, and don’t smoke. Dr. Linville will also consider your medical history before proceeding.
How can I prepare for surgery?
Before your breast augmentation surgery, you will need to stop smoking and avoid certain medications that could interfere with the procedure. You should also arrange transportation to and from the surgical center, as you cannot drive yourself afterward. On the day of surgery, arrive on time in comfortable clothing with no jewelry or makeup.
When will I see results?
Your results will be apparent immediately after your surgery. However, final results may take several months as your implants settle. Every patient’s body is different and recovery times vary, but you can quicken your recovery by resting and following all post-op instructions.
What is the recovery like?
You may experience some soreness and swelling in the breasts during the recovery process, which can typically take a couple of weeks. We may recommend taking up to two weeks off from work and routine activities, but many patients with desk jobs can return to work in a few days. You’ll be advised to wear a support bra for comfort and avoid any strenuous activities that could cause irritation. Carefully follow your surgeon’s instructions and attend all follow-up appointments.

Yes, combining breast augmentation with other procedures can provide optimal results. The most common combination is a breast lift with augmentation, which enhances the size and shape of the breasts as well as their position.
